The WMEV206B is a 2-way A-Type RCBO EV Kit fitted with a 6 A B-curve high-immunity Type A RCBO. Designed specifically for EV charger supplies, it delivers overload, short-circuit and earth-leakage protection in line with 18th Edition Amendment 2 requirements (30 mA AC + 6 mA DC detection).
This compact enclosure provides switched live and neutral isolation with clear fault indication for AC or DC imbalance. It’s pre-assembled, regulation-ready, and ideal for dedicated EV circuits up to 6 A in domestic or light-commercial environments.
Installer Tip: Choose a 6 A B-curve RCBO for low-power EV chargers or control circuits with minimal inrush current. For units above 3.6 kW or with transformer inputs, see our C-curve variants below.
- Type A RCBO – 30 mA AC + 6 mA DC leakage detection
- 6 A B-curve device for low-load EV applications
- Switched neutral design – isolates both conductors
- Compact 2-way steel enclosure with hinged cover
- Complies with BS EN 61009-1 and BS 7671 (A2)
- High-immunity design reduces nuisance tripping with EV chargers
| Part Code | Rating | Curve | Typical Use |
|---|---|---|---|
| WMEV206B | 6 A | B | Low-load EV chargers / control circuits |
| WMEV216B | 16 A | B | Standard single-phase EV installations |
| WMEV232C | 32 A | C | 7 kW chargers with higher inrush current |
Each kit arrives pre-configured and ready to install, combining Type A RCBO protection with a durable steel enclosure. For PEN fault compliance and load balancing, pair with our PME Fault Detection Unit.
Is this EV kit compliant with 18th Edition Amendment 2?
Yes – it includes a Type A RCBO providing 30 mA AC + 6 mA DC detection, meeting current BS 7671 EV circuit requirements.
When should I choose a 6 A B Curve variant?
Use this variant for low-power EV chargers or control circuits drawing under 6 A. For 7 kW or inrush-heavy units, select a C-curve model.
Does this RCBO isolate both live and neutral?
Yes – the switched neutral design ensures both conductors are disconnected during a fault or manual isolation.
Can I add surge protection to this kit?
Yes – pair with our Single Module SPD or install an upstream surge unit as required.
Can this kit be used for solar or PV as well as EV?
Yes – the Type A RCBO is bi-directional and suitable for both EV and PV circuits. For larger systems, see our 5-Module Solar Board with SPD.
