    The WMEV232C is a 2-way A-Type RCBO EV Kit fitted with a 32 A C-curve high-immunity Type A RCBO. It provides overload, short-circuit and earth-leakage protection (30 mA AC + 6 mA DC) fully in line with 18th Edition Amendment 2 requirements.

This configuration is ideal for 7 kW single-phase EV chargers that draw noticeable startup inrush currents due to transformers or filtering components. The C-curve trip profile (5–10 × In) offers surge tolerance without sacrificing response speed under faults. Compact and factory-wired, it delivers reliable dual-pole isolation for modern domestic and light-commercial installs.

Installer Tip: Use the 32 A C-curve kit for 7 kW EV chargers with transformer or switch-mode inputs that produce brief inrush currents. If your charger has a low-inrush design, the 32 A B-curve version is sufficient.

    • 32 A C-curve Type A RCBO (30 mA AC + 6 mA DC detection)
    • Dual-pole (1P + N) isolation – disconnects live and neutral
    • Compact 2-way steel enclosure with hinged cover
    • High-immunity design reduces false trips on EV loads
    • Complies with BS EN 61009-1 and BS 7671 (A2)
Part Code Rating Curve Typical Use
    WMEV225C 25 A C 5–6 kW chargers / light commercial feeds
    WMEV232C 32 A C 7 kW EV chargers on dedicated radials
    WMEV240C 40 A C High-load or dual-socket EV installations

Each kit is pre-built and ready to install. For PEN-fault and load-balancing compliance, pair with our PME Fault Detection Unit. Add a Single Module SPD for surge defence where required.

When should I choose the 32 A C Curve variant?

Use it for 7 kW EV chargers that draw moderate inrush currents or have transformer inputs. It prevents nuisance tripping while remaining fully compliant.

Is this kit 18th Edition compliant?

Yes – it includes a Type A RCBO with 30 mA AC + 6 mA DC detection as required under Amendment 2.

Does it isolate both live and neutral?

Yes – the 1P + N RCBO disconnects both conductors for safe maintenance and fault clearance.

    Can I add surge protection?

Yes – fit a Single Module SPD or an upstream surge unit as required by design.

Is it suitable for solar PV as well as EV circuits?

Yes – the Type A RCBO is bi-directional and approved for both EV and PV applications.
