Type A RCBOs combine MCB and RCD protection in one device, protecting individual circuits against overload, short circuit and residual current faults. They are used in modern consumer units, EV charger circuits, heat pump supplies, appliance circuits and inverter-fed loads where AC and pulsating DC residual currents may be present.
Compared with older Type AC devices, Type A RCBOs are better suited to today’s installations, especially where inverter-driven or electronically controlled equipment is involved.
