Shop RCDs for domestic, commercial and three-phase installations, including Type A RCDs, Type B RCDs, high-immunity and time-delay options.
An RCD monitors current balance and disconnects when residual current reaches its operating threshold. Device type, sensitivity, poles and time characteristic must suit the connected equipment and protection design.
Quick guide: Select the RCD type according to the residual-current waveform and equipment manufacturer’s requirements. Then confirm rated current, sensitivity, time characteristic, pole configuration and assembly compatibility.

RCD type is selected around the connected equipment and the residual-current components it can produce. Type AC has restricted applications; modern electronic, inverter-driven and EV loads often require another type specified by the equipment manufacturer or installation designer.
Respond to sinusoidal AC and pulsating DC residual current. They are widely used with modern electronic loads where the design and manufacturer requirements permit.
Provide additional response to smooth DC residual current and other defined waveforms. They are used for specified EV, drive, renewable and inverter applications.
Time-delayed devices can support selectivity in designed upstream arrangements. Multi-pole RCDs are available for three-phase circuits and supplies.

Important: an RCD does not replace overcurrent protection unless the selected product also incorporates that function. See the RCBO range where combined protection is required.
