The WMEPME08/SP PME Fault Detection Consumer Unit is an 8-module metal board combining a 4 Pole 63A Type A RCBO with a Type 2 Surge Protection Device (SPD). It delivers full PME/PEN fault monitoring and automatic disconnection of Live, Neutral, and Earth within 5 seconds if supply voltage moves outside safe limits. Fully compliant with BS 7671:2018 (18th Edition, Amendment 2), it removes the need for an earth rod while also safeguarding connected equipment from transient overvoltage events.
Designed for EV charger installations and other PME applications where both PEN protection and surge resilience are required, this board gives installers a ready-to-fit, regulation-first solution.
Installer Tip: The integrated Type 2 SPD protects both the charger and wider installation from transient surges — now mandatory on most new circuits. Keep the SPD earth lead as short as possible to maximise protection performance.
