The WMEPME10/LB PME Fault Detection Consumer Unit is a 10-module steel enclosure fitted with a 4 Pole 63A Type A RCBO, an integrated Type 2 Surge Protection Device (SPD), and PME load balancing relays. This combination provides full PEN fault detection, transient surge protection, and automatic load management for EV charging installations. It ensures compliance with BS 7671:2018 (18th Edition, Amendment 2) while also preventing overload when multiple circuits share the same supply.
Designed for EV installs where PEN protection and SPD are mandatory, but where balancing demand is also a priority (e.g. domestic or small commercial sites running multiple EV chargers), this unit gives installers an all-in-one, regulation-ready solution.
Installer Tip: Use this variant where supply limits risk overload. The PME load balancing relay will automatically manage demand, avoiding tripped breakers or failed inspections when running multiple EV chargers.
