Compare WMGU metal garage units

These three kits share an IP40 metal enclosure and 63A RCD. The second supplied MCB rating differs. Choose the kit specified for the circuit design; a higher MCB rating does not by itself make a circuit suitable for a larger load.

Model RCD rating Supplied MCBs MCB curve
WMGU04/616 (this product) 63A RCD 6A + 16A B Curve
WMGU04/620 63A RCD 6A + 20A B Curve
WMGU04/632 63A RCD 6A + 32A B Curve

Installation notes

A qualified electrician must select, install and test the WMGU04/616 against the circuit design and the supplied assembly and protective-device instructions.

  • Check that the proposed circuits are suitable for the supplied 6A and 16A B Curve MCBs. Cable sizing, installation method, fault conditions and disconnection requirements must all be considered.
  • Confirm the supplied RCD type and residual-current sensitivity are appropriate for the loads and installation.
  • Choose a dry, protected indoor mounting location appropriate for an IP40 enclosure.
  • Follow the manufacturer's earthing, terminal-identification, conductor-capacity and tightening-torque instructions.
  • Complete the required inspection, protective-device testing and circuit labelling before energising.
FAQs

What is included with WMGU04/616?

This kit includes a 63A RCD, 6A and 16A B Curve MCBs, and an IP40 metal enclosure with a drop-down lid and internal earth and neutral bars.

How do the three WMGU kits differ?

WMGU04/616 includes 6A + 16A MCBs, WMGU04/620 includes 6A + 20A, and WMGU04/632 includes 6A + 32A. This page supplies WMGU04/616, the 6A + 16A version. The comparison table links to the other kits.

Which RCD is supplied?

WCED lists a 63A RCD for this kit. Please contact Power & Data UK to confirm the exact device type and residual-current sensitivity required for your installation.

Can it be installed outdoors?

Use this IP40 enclosure in a dry, protected indoor location. An exposed outdoor installation requires an enclosure and complete assembly suitable for those conditions.

Does the MCB rating determine which equipment I can connect?

The MCB rating is one part of the circuit design. The installer must also check the load, cable, protective devices and supply conditions; a particular kit is not automatically suitable for an EV charger, compressor or other equipment.

What size is the enclosure?

WCED publishes dimensions of 130 × 258 × 110mm in width × height × depth order for all three WMGU kits.
