The WMMS/632 is a robust IP40 metal garage consumer unit fitted with a 100A main switch incomer and pre-installed 6A and 32A B-curve MCBs. Designed for garages, workshops, and outbuildings that need a separate lighting circuit plus a high-load circuit for equipment such as welders, compressors, or heaters, it meets BS 7671:2018 Amendment 2 requirements for safe local isolation and circuit protection.
Use the 6A breaker for lighting and the 32A breaker for heavy-duty radial or equipment circuits. The all-metal IP40 enclosure, earthed lid and integrated neutral/earth bars ensure a safe, clean, and installer-friendly setup that’s ready for inspection and certification.
Installer Tip: The 32A circuit suits single-phase loads up to around 7.3 kW. Check cable sizing, protective coordination and maximum demand to maintain compliance with BS 7671 disconnection times and voltage drop limits.
- IP40 steel garage unit with earthed drop-down lid
- 100A double-pole main switch for local isolation
- Pre-fitted 6A and 32A B-curve MCBs – ideal for lighting and high-load circuits
- Integrated neutral and earth bars for fast termination
- Compact surface-mount enclosure with powder-coated finish
- Built to order in the UK – typically dispatched within 3 working days
- Fully compliant with BS EN 61439 and BS 7671:2018 (Amendment 2)
| Part Code | Incomer | MCB Set | Typical Use |
|---|---|---|---|
| WMMS/616 | 100A Main Switch | 6A + 16A (B) | Lighting + light power/tool circuit |
| WMMS/620 | 100A Main Switch | 6A + 20A (B) | Lighting + heavier socket/radial circuit |
| WMMS/632 | 100A Main Switch | 6A + 32A (B) | Lighting + high-load (e.g. compressor, welder, heater) |
The WMMS/632 delivers reliable protection for mixed-load garage setups in one metal consumer unit. For additional earth leakage protection or custom breaker combinations, explore our RCD incomer range or upgrade using Type A RCBOs for individual circuits.
What’s the difference between WMMS/616, WMMS/620 and WMMS/632?
The difference is in the outgoing MCB ratings. WMMS/616 includes 6A + 16A, WMMS/620 includes 6A + 20A, and WMMS/632 includes 6A + 32A for higher-load circuits. All models share the same IP40 steel enclosure and 100A main switch.
Is the WMMS/632 suitable for heavy tools and machinery?
Yes. The 32A B-curve MCB suits single-phase circuits supplying heavier equipment such as welders, compressors or heaters, provided the circuit design current and cable size are correctly rated.
Does this unit provide RCD or RCBO protection?
No, this version uses a Main Switch incomer. For earth-leakage protection, choose an RCD incomer model or install individual RCBOs downstream.
Can this unit be installed outdoors?
No. The enclosure is rated IP40 for indoor environments only. For outdoor setups, use our IP65+ weatherproof range.
What’s the lead time?
All WMMS units are built to order in the UK and typically dispatched within 3 working days with tracked courier delivery.
