The WPEPME08/C40 is an IP65 PME consumer unit for single-phase EV charging circuits. It combines a 40A C Curve Type A RCBO with PME fault monitoring in a compact, pre-wired enclosure.
This model provides overcurrent and Type A residual-current protection without a factory-fitted SPD. It is suited to designs where surge protection is not required at this point or is already coordinated elsewhere in the installation.
Installer Tip: This model includes a Type A RCBO but no factory-fitted SPD. Where the design requires local surge protection, compare the WPEPME08/SP version.

PME Fault Protection for EV Charging
The built-in monitoring arrangement checks the supply against the manufacturer’s stated under-voltage and over-voltage thresholds. When a qualifying abnormal condition is detected, the assembly operates its linked switching arrangement to disconnect line, neutral and the protective conductor. Under-voltage recovery is automatic; an over-voltage operation requires manual reset.
Final selection still depends on the charger, supply characteristics, earthing arrangement and the protective devices already present. Installation, inspection and testing must be completed by a suitably qualified person in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions and the current edition of BS 7671.
