EV RCBOs provide combined overcurrent and residual current protection for dedicated EV charger circuits. Built with Type A detection and high-immunity filtering, they prevent nuisance tripping caused by the harmonics, pulsed DC leakage and switching noise common in modern EV chargers.
Most EV chargers include their own 6mA DC protection module, so the correct protective device is a Type A RCBO with stable performance under DC offset and electrical noise. High-immunity Type A RCBOs ensure smooth operation while maintaining full 30mA earth-leakage protection for the circuit.
These RCBOs are widely used across EV charger installations because they meet modern leakage-detection requirements while providing reliable disconnection without nuisance tripping.

The charger manufacturer’s instructions determine the required residual-current arrangement. Confirm any built-in DC leakage detection before selecting an external Type A, Type B or other protective solution, then coordinate the RCBO rating and curve with the circuit design.
