    The WME4L/32 is a 4-way mini metal enclosure with a drop-down lid, measuring 110 × 175 × 91mm (W × H × D). It is supplied with a DIN rail and earth terminal bar for building a suitable circuit-protection assembly.

This four-way format shares the external dimensions of the three-way model. Four ways describe the enclosure format; they do not guarantee space for four separate devices of any width.

    • 4-way enclosure format
    • Metal body and drop-down metal lid
    • Polyester powder-coated finish
    • DIN rail and earth terminal bar included
    • 25mm and 32mm circular knockouts on the top and bottom
    • Raised keyhole mounting points
    • IP40 enclosure protection

    Planning the device layout

Choose devices to suit the complete assembly and circuit design. Check their combined width, depth, terminal access and wiring space before ordering. The enclosure provides a housing; the installed devices determine the circuit-protection functions.

The three- and four-way models have the same external dimensions. Select the required way count and check the proposed device layout, wiring space and cable access.

    What are the dimensions?

    The WME4L/32 measures 110 × 175 × 91mm, in width × height × depth order.

Are the three- and four-way models the same external size?

Yes. Both WME3L/32 and WME4L/32 are listed at 110 × 175 × 91mm. Select the way count needed for the intended device layout.

What is supplied with the enclosure?

The enclosure has a drop-down metal lid and is supplied with a DIN rail and earth terminal bar.

Will any RCBO, MCB or SPD combination fit?

Check the exact device sizes and the proposed assembly. The 4-way format is not a guarantee that any combination of 4 devices will fit; some devices occupy more than one way and require additional connection space.

    Which cable-entry knockouts are provided?

25mm and 32mm circular knockouts are provided on the top and bottom. Select the entry fittings for the cables and installation requirements.

    Is it weatherproof?

No. The IP40 enclosure is intended for suitable indoor locations. Use an enclosure with protection appropriate for the environment where it will be installed.

Install using the raised keyhole mounting points in a suitable indoor location. Use the 25mm and 32mm top or bottom knockouts with cable-entry fittings appropriate for the installation.

Whitecliffe recommends 2.0Nm for the earth terminal bar. Use the specified torque for each fitted device and terminal; this value is not a universal setting for the complete assembly.

A qualified electrician should check device compatibility, cable space, enclosure earthing and the completed assembly before energising. Follow the supplied enclosure and device instructions.
