WEV240B-030 is a 2 pole Type B RCD rated at 40A, 30mA, designed for circuits where DC residual fault currents or higher-frequency leakage may be present. It provides protection against DC residual fault currents and against AC residual fault currents up to 1000 hertz, making it suitable for EV charger installations, solar PV systems, UPS equipment, and frequency converters.

Where a standard RCD is not sufficient, this Type B device provides the broader leakage detection needed for inverter-driven and specialist electrical applications. Its compact 2 pole format makes it suitable for integration into compatible distribution boards where Type B protection is required.

Installer Tip: Always check whether the equipment manufacturer specifies a Type B device before installing a Type A alternative on EV or inverter-led circuits.

    Type B RCD technical diagram

When is a Type B RCD used?

Type B RCDs are used where DC residual fault currents or higher-frequency AC residual currents may be present, such as EV chargers, solar PV systems, UPS equipment, and frequency converters.

Is WEV240B-030 suitable for EV charger installations?

Yes. This model is suitable for EV charger applications where Type B residual current protection is specified.

What does this device detect that other RCDs may not?

WEV240B-030 provides protection against DC residual fault currents and detects AC residual fault currents up to 1000Hz, making it suitable for inverter-driven and specialist electrical systems.

What are the dimensions of this RCD?

    The dimensions are 54 x 87 x 79.5mm.

Are other ratings available in the same range?

Yes. The same Type B RCD range also includes higher-rated 2 pole and 4 pole variants for applications requiring different current capacities.
