The WHR120B-030 is a 20A B curve Type B HP heat pump RCBO combining overcurrent and residual-current protection in a single 18mm module. It is intended for inverter-driven heat pump circuits where the equipment manufacturer or circuit design calls for Type B residual-current protection.
Its Type B HP characteristic is designed to detect smooth DC residual currents and operate in the high-frequency conditions associated with modern heat pump systems. The B overcurrent curve is the device's thermal-magnetic trip characteristic and is separate from its Type B residual-current classification. Confirm that both the 20A rating and B curve suit the connected equipment, cable and circuit design.
Installer note: “Type B HP” describes the residual-current detection characteristic; “B curve” describes the overcurrent trip characteristic. These are different specifications.
The WHR range is engineered for operation at frequencies above 20kHz, with the manufacturer stating a minimum tripping threshold of 150mA for frequencies above 1kHz. Selection must follow the heat pump manufacturer's instructions and the requirements of the installation design.
Use the table below to compare the listed WHR models by rated current and overcurrent curve. All models are Type B HP residual-current devices; the B or C curve shown here refers to the separate overcurrent characteristic.
