    The WEVCU32C is a compact 3-way IP40-rated metal EV connection unit fitted with a 100 A double-pole main switch and 32 A Type C MCB. It provides safe local isolation and overcurrent protection for single-phase EV charge points in accordance with BS 7671:2018 Amendment 2.

    This Type C model is suited to EV chargers with higher inrush or transformer-based loads, offering greater immunity to start-up surges while maintaining precise short-circuit protection. Compact, installer-friendly and regulation-ready, it’s a reliable choice for domestic and light-commercial EV installations.

    Installer Tip: Use Type C breakers where the EV charger’s inrush current exceeds five to ten times the rated load. Always verify manufacturer guidance before final selection.

    Why choose a Type C MCB for EV installations?

    Type C MCBs handle higher inrush currents from chargers with internal transformers or capacitive loads, reducing unwanted trips while maintaining protection.

    Does this include surge protection?

    No. It provides isolation and overcurrent protection only. Add a surge device at the main board if required.

    Can it be installed outdoors?

    No. The enclosure is IP40 rated for indoor use only.

    Is it pre-wired?

    No. It’s supplied un-wired so the installer can configure conductors to suit the circuit layout.
