The WMTP36-R40CSP is a complete 3 phase PME consumer unit for three EV chargers. It is supplied in a 36-module IP40 steel enclosure with 3 x 40A four-pole RCBO outputs, two PME fault detectors, a 100A main switch and Type 2 surge protection.
This model is designed specifically for installations serving three three-phase EV charge points. It combines the distribution, individual circuit protection, surge protection and open-PEN protective arrangement within one pre-wired assembly.
Installer Tip: The WMTP36-R40CSP is the three-output three-phase charger model. Choose the WMTP28-R40CSP for two three-phase chargers or the WMTP28-WER40CSP where six single-phase charging outputs are required.
EV charge points connected to a PME supply require an appropriate protective measure against the consequences of an open-PEN conductor. The WMTP36-R40CSP combines PME fault detection with the protective and switching equipment required for three independently protected three-phase charger circuits.
When a qualifying abnormal supply-voltage condition is detected, the protection arrangement operates to isolate the EV charging installation. Its suitability—including whether a separate earth electrode is unnecessary—must be confirmed by the installer from the complete installation design and the applicable edition of BS 7671.
This page relates specifically to the WMTP36-R40CSP. Its three 40A four-pole RCBO outputs are intended to supply three three-phase chargers from a 400/415V three-phase installation.
The connected chargers must include the DC leakage protection required by the charger manufacturer and the applicable installation requirements. Device compatibility, maximum demand, diversity, load management and upstream protection must all be verified during circuit design.

Specification Note: The manufacturer’s currently available information confirms the output quantity, pole configuration and 40A rating but does not clearly substantiate the RCBO curve, residual-current type or rated residual operating current for this exact SKU. Confirm those device markings before final specification.
The WMTP36-R40CSP must be specified, installed, tested and commissioned by a suitably qualified electrical installer. Confirm that the complete arrangement is appropriate for the supply, earthing system, connected chargers and applicable edition of BS 7671.
Configuration Check: This model provides three 40A four-pole RCBO outputs for three three-phase EV chargers. Do not use the specifications for the two-output or six single-phase-output models when designing the installation.
Always follow the product instructions, EV charger manufacturer requirements, Building Regulations and the applicable edition of BS 7671.
This model provides three dedicated 40A four-pole RCBO outputs and is designed for three three-phase EV charge points.
The WMTP36-R40CSP supplies three three-phase chargers. The WMTP28-R40CSP provides two 40A four-pole RCBO outputs for two three-phase chargers.
No. For six single-phase charging outputs, see the WMTP28-WER40CSP PME Consumer Unit.
The WMTP36-R40CSP includes two PME fault detectors as part of its open-PEN protective arrangement.
The integrated open-PEN protective measure may allow an installation to be designed without a separate earth electrode where the relevant conditions are satisfied. This must be confirmed by the installer from the earthing arrangement, complete circuit design, manufacturer instructions and applicable edition of BS 7671.
Yes. A Type 2 surge protection device is included. Its indicator displays green while serviceable and red when replacement is required.
Not in an exposed location. The steel enclosure is rated IP40 and should be installed indoors in a dry, suitable environment.
It is designed for a 400/415V three-phase AC supply. Supply capacity, maximum demand, diversity, load management and upstream protection must be assessed for the installation.
Yes. The manufacturer identifies the WMTP arrangement for charge points incorporating the necessary DC leakage protection. Confirm every charger’s specification before installation.
Following an undervoltage condition, the protection can reset automatically once the supply returns to an acceptable range. Following an overvoltage operation, manual reset is required after the cause has been assessed.
The available manufacturer information confirms three 40A four-pole RCBO outputs but does not clearly verify the curve, residual-current type or rated residual operating current for this exact SKU. Check the fitted device markings or obtain manufacturer confirmation before final specification.
