Read full descriptionThe WRS4P40 is a 40A four-pole AC rotary isolator with an IP66 enclosure. Its weatherproof polycarbonate housing measures 98 × 145 × 112mm (W × H × D), with a rotary ON/OFF handle and a facility for padlocking in the OFF position.
For load selection, WCED lists 32A under AC-23A and 30A under AC-3. These operating-current ratings differ from the headline 40A rating. Check the switching duty, operating voltage and connected equipment before choosing the isolator.

Is this isolator IP65 or IP66?
WCED specifies an IP66 enclosure for WRS4P40. Maintain that protection with suitable cable-entry fittings and correct cover assembly.
What current rating should I use for selection?
The rated current is 40A. WCED separately lists 32A operating current for AC-23A and 30A for AC-3. Match the switch to the operating voltage, utilisation category and duty required by the connected equipment.
What are the dimensions?
The nominal enclosure dimensions are 98 × 145 × 112mm, in width × height × depth order.
Can it be padlocked OFF?
Yes. The handle has an OFF-position padlock facility. A padlock is not included.
Is this the DC solar version?
No. This is an AC model. The separate WRS4P32DC is designed for solar DC applications and has its own voltage, thermal-current and wiring requirements.

The applicable switching voltage and load duty must be checked when selecting the switch. The insulation-voltage rating does not establish its operating-current capability at that voltage.
Installation and testing should be carried out by a qualified electrician following the instructions for the exact switch supplied. Confirm the circuit voltage, load type, switching duty and conductor arrangement. For WRS4P40, the listed operating currents are 32A for AC-23A and 30A for AC-3; the headline 40A rating should not be treated as approval to switch every 40A load.
Use suitable mountings and sealed cable-entry fittings, and assemble the cover correctly to maintain IP66 protection. Follow the specified torque for each connection and fixing. The cover interlock permits removal only in the OFF position. A padlock can be fitted for lock-off and is supplied separately.
