The WME08/HP40C heat pump consumer unit brings a 40A Type B HP RCD, surge protection, main switch and 16A MCB protection together in a metal enclosure. It gives installers a dedicated board configuration to specify for a heat-pump project, with the protective devices and enclosure supplied together.
Choose this version when the heat-pump manufacturer's requirements and your circuit design call for Type B HP residual current protection with MCB-protected outgoing circuits. If your schedule needs two additional RCBOs, compare the WME08/HPR40C version below.
What this heat-pump board gives you
- Type B HP protection: the fitted WHP RCD is designed for smooth DC and higher-frequency residual currents associated with inverter-driven equipment.
- Separate protection functions: the 40A rating belongs to the RCD; the listed outgoing MCB rating is 16A. This is not a board supplied with a 40A outgoing MCB.
- Integrated Type 2 surge protection: an SPD is included in the assembly to address transient overvoltages.
- A compact metal enclosure: 232mm wide × 240mm high × 112mm deep, helping you check the available mounting space before ordering.
Match the supplied breakers to your circuit schedule
Whitecliffe lists 16A C-curve MCBs for WME08/HP40C. The gallery shows an example assembly with mixed B16/C16 markings, so confirm the quantity and trip curve of each supplied MCB before ordering. The manufacturer's 8-module description identifies the enclosure variant; it does not mean eight spare outgoing ways remain after the equipment is fitted.
