The WARTD263-100 A-Type 100mA Time Delay RCD is a 2 Pole S-Type device designed for upstream fault protection in dual-RCD or selective coordination setups. With its built-in delay, it ensures that downstream devices trip first, maintaining supply integrity across unaffected circuits. Ideal for EV charging installs, renewable energy systems, and industrial boards, this unit fully complies with BS EN 61008-1 and the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
Installer Tip: Use time delay (S-Type) RCDs only in upstream positions. Never fit them as the sole RCD on final circuits, as the delay may compromise disconnection times.
Key Features
- 2 Pole A-Type RCD – detects AC + pulsating DC leakage
- Time delay (S-Type) – ensures upstream discrimination
- 63A rated current – also available in 80A & 100A variants
- Sensitivities: 30 / 100 / 300mA (selectable internally)
- DIN-rail mountable – compact 36mm design
- Compatible with RCBOs and SPDs for full system protection
- Standards: BS EN 61008-1, 18th Edition compliant

What is a 100mA time delay RCD used for?
It provides upstream protection in multi-RCD systems, ensuring only the closest RCD trips first. Common in distribution boards and EV charging setups.
Can this be used in EV or solar systems?
Yes. Often installed upstream in EV infrastructure, renewable installs, or generator-backed systems to achieve discrimination.
Is this compliant with the 18th Edition regs?
Yes – it complies with BS EN 61008-1 and the discrimination requirements under the 18th Edition Amendment 2.
Does it replace surge protection?
No. A time delay RCD doesn’t provide surge suppression. Pair with a Type 2 SPD for full compliance and equipment protection.
