The WARTD463-100 A-Type 100mA Time Delay RCD is a 4 Pole S-Type device rated at 63A. Its built-in time delay ensures upstream discrimination, allowing downstream RCDs to trip first and preventing unnecessary power loss. Ideal for three-phase distribution boards, EV charging hubs, and renewable installs where selective coordination is essential. Fully compliant with BS EN 61008-1 and the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.

Installer Tip: Use 4 Pole time delay RCDs when protecting three-phase circuits or boards with both line and neutral conductors. Never use time delay devices on final circuits directly.

    Key Features

    • 4 Pole A-Type RCD – full disconnection of line + neutral
    • Time delay (S-Type) – ensures upstream coordination
    • 63A rated current – suited for small to mid-sized three-phase boards
    • Sensitivity: 100mA (30mA & 300mA options also available)
    • DIN-rail mountable – compact 72mm unit
    • Standards: BS EN 61008-1, 18th Edition compliant

    Compare Time Delay RCD Variants

Model Poles Rated Current Sensitivity Type
    WARTD463-100 (This Product) 4 Pole 63A 100mA A-Type, Time Delay (S-Type)
    WARTD480-100 4 Pole 80A 100mA A-Type, Time Delay (S-Type)
    WARTD4100-100 4 Pole 100A 100mA A-Type, Time Delay (S-Type)

Where is the WARTD463-100 most commonly used?

It’s suited for upstream protection in smaller three-phase boards, EV charging sites, or renewable installs requiring selective coordination.

Why use a time delay RCD instead of a standard RCD?

A time delay RCD allows downstream RCDs to trip first, preventing nuisance outages across unaffected circuits.

Is this compliant with UK regulations?

Yes – it complies with BS EN 61008-1 and the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (Amendment 2).

Does this RCD cover surge protection?

No – surge protection requires a dedicated SPD installed alongside the RCD.
