Description

The WCED WKC Series 10kA Miniature Circuit Breakers (MCBs) are high-performance devices designed for precise overcurrent detection and short-circuit protection. Built to handle demanding applications, they provide reliable protection for domestic, commercial, and industrial distribution systems – including solar PV with SPD and EV charging circuits.

Available from 6A to 63A in B, C, and D curves (D curve available on request), these MCBs are bi-directional and fully compliant with IEC/EN 60898-1 standards. Their compact single-pole design fits standard DIN rail slots and integrates seamlessly into WCED TP&N three-phase boards and distribution systems.

  • 10kA breaking capacity – robust protection against high fault currents
  • Wide rating range – 6A to 63A
  • Curve options: B, C, and D (D curve on request)
  • Bi-directional – suitable for solar PV and EV applications
  • Compliant with IEC/EN 60898-1
  • Space-saving – single module width

Also available: 4-pole MCBs for three-phase installations, or RCBOs for combined earth leakage and overload protection.

FAQs

What does 10kA breaking capacity mean?

It’s the maximum short-circuit current the breaker can safely interrupt without damage – 10,000 amps in this case. For standard boards, see our MCB range; for higher-risk installs, pair with surge protection devices.

Which curve type should I choose?

B curves are common in domestic installations, C curves for commercial or small industrial loads, and D curves for high inrush current equipment. For circuits needing combined earth leakage protection, consider RCBOs.

Are these MCBs suitable for solar or EV applications?

Yes – they are bi-directional and can be used in solar PV systems and EV charging circuits, provided they are rated appropriately.

Can I mix curve types in the same board?

Yes – as long as the curves and ratings are selected to suit the individual circuits and the installation design. For larger installs, see our three-phase boards and accessories.
