The WFD110B-030 is a 10A, B Curve Arc Fault Detection (AFDD) RCBO, combining arc fault detection, residual current protection (30mA), short-circuit, and overload protection in one compact device. Built to BS 7671:2018 (18th Edition) standards, it delivers advanced fire prevention for modern electrical systems.

Unlike a standard RCBO, this device features microprocessor-based arc fault detection, continuously monitoring the electrical waveform for dangerous arc signals caused by worn wiring, poor connections, ageing circuits, or faulty appliances. When detected, it trips instantly, cutting both live and neutral conductors to eliminate fire hazards.

Installer Tip: The 10A AFDD RCBO is best suited for socket circuits and small appliance circuits in HMOs, student housing, and sleeping accommodation where fire prevention is essential.

    Protective Coverage

    This AFDD RCBO combines:

    • Arc fault detection – series and parallel
    • Residual current protection – Type A (30mA, AC + pulsed DC)
    • Short-circuit and overload protection
    • Overvoltage protection – trips at 275V ±5%

What is the 10A AFDD RCBO used for?

It’s typically used for socket and small appliance circuits in HMOs, rentals, and commercial premises where fire safety is critical.

Is this device compliant with UK regulations?

Yes – fully compliant with BS 7671:2018+A2 and certified to BS EN standards for AFDDs and RCBOs.

Does it disconnect both live and neutral?

Yes – the switched neutral design provides full isolation of the circuit.

What’s the main benefit of an AFDD over a standard RCBO?

It detects dangerous arc faults caused by poor wiring, ageing conductors, or faulty appliances – something standard RCBOs cannot do.

    What other ratings are available?

    The WFD1 series includes 6A, 16A, 20A, 32A, and 40A models. This page is for the 10A WFD110B-030.
