What’s the difference between retractive and 2 way switches?
Retractive switches (WS1GR) return to the ‘off’ position when released — commonly used for bell or trigger circuits. 2-way switches toggle between two outputs and are suited for standard outdoor lighting setups.
Is this suitable for outdoor lighting?
Yes – all models are IP66 rated and ideal for external lighting, pond pumps, or outdoor power control. They are often paired with weatherproof sockets for complete garden installs.
Can I install this near a water source?
Yes – provided it is properly sealed, it can be safely used in outdoor or wet environments. For higher protection and coordination with outdoor RCDs, consider our RCD units or RCBOs.

Each switch unit comes pre-assembled and is ready to mount on external walls, posts, or backboards. Ensure all glands and grommets are correctly sealed to maintain IP rating. Retractive model (WS1GR) is commonly used for bell circuits or smart trigger inputs (e.g. EV charger enable).
