The WME-HP40C Heat Pump Consumer Unit is a dedicated protection board designed specifically for inverter-driven heat pump circuits. Supplied pre-configured with a 40A Type B RCD, a 40A Type C MCB, and a 2-pole Type 2 SPD, it offers full compliance with BS7671 18th Edition Amendment 2 – including the latest surge protection and RCD requirements for renewables.
Available in 8-way or 12-way variants, this board provides space for additional outgoing MCBs while maintaining a compact footprint. Built into a robust white powder-coated metal enclosure, it’s ready for install in domestic and light commercial applications. For PME compliance in EV + heat pump setups, pair with our PME Fault Detection Unit.

Is this board compliant for heat pump installs under the 18th Edition?
Yes – it includes a Type B RCD and Type 2 SPD, both required for protecting inverter-driven loads such as heat pumps. For standalone installs, see our Heat Pump RCD.
What’s the difference between the 8-way and 12-way versions?
Both versions come with the same pre-fitted protection devices. The 12-way version simply offers more DIN space for future RCBOs or circuit expansions.
Can I add RCBOs to this board?
Yes – there are spare DIN ways for adding outgoing protection devices like RCBOs or additional MCBs. For nuisance-trip resistance, see our High Immunity RCBOs.
