    The 3 Way EV RCBO Enclosure is a compact, built-to-order unit that provides both earth leakage and overload protection for single-phase EV charger installs. Supplied with your choice of Type A High Immunity RCBO (B or C curve, 32A or 40A), it’s only 34mm wider than our 2-way version – making it ideal for space-sensitive installs.

    Each unit is built into a robust metal enclosure with 3 DIN modules, pre-configured for PME-compliant installs and suitable for pairing with Type 2 SPDs where required. The dual-switch action clearly indicates whether a trip is caused by AC or DC leakage, helping speed up diagnosis and maintenance on-site.

    What’s the advantage of a Type A High Immunity RCBO?

    It detects both AC and pulsating DC leakage currents, plus up to 6mA smooth DC – making it the right choice for EV charger circuits. High Immunity design prevents nuisance tripping from harmonics and inverter noise.

    Do I need an earth rod with this unit?

    No – when paired with a PME fault detection device, it can be used safely on TN-C-S (PME) supplies without an earth rod.

    Can I choose the RCBO rating?

    Yes – you can select either 32A or 40A in B or C curve, depending on the charger specification and circuit design.

    Does this include surge protection?

    Not as standard. For full surge compliance, add a Type 2 SPD to the supply board or opt for a pre-built EV surge protection board.
