The WRB1 range of High Immunity Type A RCBOs delivers full overload and residual protection in a true 1-module width design - saving space while maintaining full compliance with modern regs. These compact breakers feature switched live and neutral, Type A RCD sensitivity, and bi-directional wiring for inverter-fed systems.
Ideal for residential boards, EV charger circuits, solar PV, and battery installs - these RCBOs are built to handle AC and pulsating DC faults, all while resisting nuisance tripping caused by harmonics or transient voltages.
Available Variants:
- WRB106B: 6A – Curve B
- WRB110B: 10A – Curve B
- WRB116B: 16A – Curve B
- WRB120B: 20A – Curve B
- WRB125B: 25A – Curve B
- WRB132B: 32A – Curve B
- WRB140B: 40A – Curve B
Also available in Curve C – see alternate listing or get in touch.
Key Features:
- Single module RCBO with full 1P+N protection
- Type A RCD – detects AC and pulsating DC faults
- Bi-directional wiring – install line/load either way
- Switched live and neutral – full circuit isolation
- High immunity to reduce nuisance tripping
- Suitable for EV, solar, battery and inverter-based systems
What is a Type A RCBO?
Type A RCBOs detect both standard AC and pulsating DC leakage - making them suitable for most modern loads, including EV chargers and inverters.
What does ‘bi-directional’ mean?
Bi-directional RCBOs can be installed with line/load on either terminal. This is especially useful in solar and battery setups where current may reverse.
How much space does this take in the board?
Just 1 module - 18mm width. Ideal for tight domestic or retrofit installs.
Do I need to disconnect cables to test insulation resistance?
No - the WRB1 range features switched neutral, so insulation testing can be done without removing conductors.
Is this suitable for EV charger circuits?
Yes - these RCBOs meet RCD Type A requirements and are ideal for domestic EV installs. Just match the current rating and curve to your charger spec.
- Type: A (AC + pulsating DC detection)
- Poles: 1P+N with switched neutral
- Current Ratings: 6A–40A (variant dependent)
- Sensitivity: 30mA
- Breaking Capacity: 6kA
- Trip Curve: B (Curve C available on request)
- Mounting: DIN rail (1 module width)
- Voltage: 230V
- IP Rating: IP20 (indoor use)
- Dimensions: 18mm (W) × 90mm (H) × 77mm (D)
- Conformity: BS EN 61009-1 / IEC 61009-1
- Bi-directional: Yes (line/load reversible)
Install this RCBO as part of a compliant consumer unit to provide combined overload and residual protection. The bi-directional design means line and load can be wired either way, simplifying install on inverter-fed or backfeed-prone systems.
- No need to disconnect for insulation resistance testing
- Use with DIN rail systems (35mm standard)
- Check MCB curve suitability for inrush loads (B vs C)
- Torque terminals to 2.5Nm for secure connections
