Why is a Type B RCD needed for heat pump systems?
Heat pumps and inverter-driven systems can generate smooth DC leakage currents. Type B RCDs are the only devices capable of detecting and disconnecting in those fault conditions - especially for compliance with manufacturers like Vaillant.
