The WKC216D is a 16 A 2 Pole 10 kA Miniature Circuit Breaker (MCB) designed for protecting motor, pump, and automation circuits with high inrush current. Its D-curve tripping characteristic allows 10–20× rated current at start-up, ensuring reliable protection for transformers, coils, and inductive control gear without nuisance tripping.

This dual-pole MCB isolates both live conductors simultaneously, providing safe disconnection and compliance with BS EN 60898-1. Its 36 mm housing fits any standard 35 mm DIN rail — suitable for consumer units, industrial boards, and commercial distribution panels.

Installer Tip: Use a 16 A D-curve MCB on circuits supplying small industrial motors, pumps, or automated plant. If loads are primarily resistive or low-surge, consider the C-curve version instead.

    Key Features

    • 16 A rated – suitable for motors, pumps, and automation panels
    • 10 kA breaking capacity – built for high fault-level environments
    • 2-pole isolation – disconnects both live conductors simultaneously
    • D-curve tripping – allows 10–20× inrush without false tripping
    • Bi-directional terminals – feed from top or bottom
    • 36 mm width – compact 2-module design for DIN rails
    • Compliant with IEC/EN 60898-1 and the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations

    Where is a 16 A D-curve MCB typically used?

Ideal for circuits supplying pumps, motors, or control equipment with high inrush current on startup.

Does it isolate both live conductors?

Yes – 2-pole operation disconnects both lines simultaneously for full safety isolation.

Is this suitable for automation systems?

Yes – designed for automation panels, HVAC control, and other inductive loads with surge behaviour.

Is it BS EN 60898-1 compliant?

Yes – fully tested and compliant with BS EN 60898-1 and 18th Edition standards.
