The WCED WAR4 Series 4 Pole Type A High Immunity RCDs are engineered for demanding modern electrical systems where standard Type AC devices fall short. They are particularly suited for:
- Solar PV arrays – providing stable protection even with inverter-driven circuits.
- EV charging installations – compliant with requirements for pulsating DC leakage up to 6mA.
- UPS and backup systems – ensuring reliable disconnection under fault conditions.
Unlike traditional RCDs, these devices detect both sinusoidal residual AC currents and pulsating DC currents, reducing the risk of nuisance tripping caused by electronic loads.
Available in three current ratings, each designed to meet the needs of residential, commercial, and industrial boards:
- 63A – WAR463-030
- 80A – WAR480-030
- 100A – WAR4100-030
Compact, durable, and compliant with BS EN 61008-1, these 4P Type A RCDs provide reliable protection with long service life.
What does ‘High Immunity’ mean for this RCD?
High immunity means the device is less prone to nuisance tripping caused by electronic loads or harmonics, making it more reliable in solar PV, EV charging, and UPS systems.
Where should I use a 4 Pole Type A RCD?
They are ideal for protecting three-phase installations or circuits where residual DC leakage currents may be present, such as inverters or chargers.
What sizes are available?
This range includes 63A (WAR463-030), 80A (WAR480-030), and 100A (WAR4100-030), all with 100mA sensitivity.
Is it compliant with UK standards?
Yes, it is fully compliant with BS EN 61008-1 and suitable for UK residential, commercial, and industrial boards.
