The WKC250D is a 50 A 2 Pole 10 kA Miniature Circuit Breaker (MCB) built for demanding circuits with high inrush current — including plant machinery, HVAC systems, and large motor or pump feeds. The D-curve tripping profile allows 10–20× rated current during energisation, providing stable protection for inductive loads without nuisance tripping.

Its dual-pole isolation safely disconnects both live conductors simultaneously, in full compliance with BS EN 60898-1 and 18th Edition Wiring Regulations. Compact 36 mm body fits standard 35 mm DIN rails in industrial enclosures, distribution boards, and consumer units.

Installer Tip: A 50 A D-curve MCB is suited for heavy-duty control panels, motor circuits, and HVAC plant where inrush currents are substantial. For more moderate applications, see the C-curve model.

    Key Features

    • 50 A rated – ideal for heavy-duty industrial and HVAC circuits
    • 10 kA breaking capacity – withstands commercial and industrial fault levels
    • 2-pole isolation – disconnects both live conductors simultaneously
    • D-curve tripping – tolerates high inrush up to 20× rated current
    • Bi-directional terminals – allows top or bottom feed
    • 36 mm (2-module) DIN-rail format
    • Certified to IEC/EN 60898-1 for 18th Edition compliance

    What is a 50 A D-curve MCB used for?

Typically installed in industrial or commercial plant rooms, HVAC systems, or control panels with heavy inductive loads.

Does it isolate both live conductors?

Yes – 2-pole design disconnects both live lines simultaneously for complete isolation and safety.

Can it be used for HVAC systems?

Yes – it’s a popular choice for high-capacity HVAC and compressor circuits where startup current is high.

Is it BS EN 60898-1 compliant?

Yes – certified to BS EN 60898-1 and compliant with the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
