The WKC220D is a 20 A 2 Pole 10 kA Miniature Circuit Breaker (MCB) designed for high-inrush circuits such as compressors, fan motors, and transformer-fed control panels. The D-curve tripping profile tolerates up to 20× rated current at start-up, preventing nuisance tripping on inductive or motor-driven loads.

Dual-pole operation ensures both live conductors are disconnected simultaneously, meeting BS EN 60898-1 standards and 18th Edition Wiring Regulations. Its 36 mm compact housing mounts easily on any 35 mm DIN rail across industrial enclosures, consumer units, or commercial boards.

Installer Tip: The 20 A D-curve breaker is ideal for compressor circuits and high-inrush loads. For lighting or resistive circuits, the C-curve model is usually sufficient.

    Key Features

    • 20 A rated – ideal for compressors, fans, and industrial control systems
    • 10 kA breaking capacity – safe for commercial fault levels
    • 2-pole isolation – disconnects both live conductors simultaneously
    • D-curve tripping – tolerates 10–20× rated current at startup
    • Bi-directional terminals – top or bottom feed connection
    • 36 mm (2-module) DIN-rail mount
    • Certified to IEC/EN 60898-1 for 18th Edition compliance

What is a D-curve MCB used for?

D-curve breakers are used where startup current exceeds normal limits – such as with compressors, transformers, or heavy inductive loads.

Does this MCB isolate both conductors?

Yes – dual-pole design disconnects both live lines simultaneously for full safety.

Can it be used for fan or pump circuits?

Yes – it’s ideal for fan motors, pumps, and automation systems with high inrush current.

Is this compliant with BS EN 60898-1?

Yes – fully tested to BS EN 60898-1 and compliant with the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
