This 2 Pole Type A RCD offers residual current protection for modern single-phase installations - including solar inverters and EV chargers. Designed with high immunity to nuisance tripping, it detects both AC and pulsating DC leakage currents up to 6mA, making it suitable for today’s mixed-load electrical environments.

Featuring full double pole disconnection and compact dimensions, it’s ideal as a main incomer RCD or as additional protection within a consumer unit or sub-board.

    Available Variants:

    • WAR263-030: 63A, Type A, 2 Pole
    • WAR280-030: 80A, Type A, 2 Pole
    • WAR2100-030: 100A, Type A, 2 Pole

    Key Features:

    • Type A – Detects AC and pulsating DC earth leakage (up to 6mA)
    • Double Pole disconnection – cuts live and neutral simultaneously
    • High immunity – resistant to transient voltages and harmonics
    • Electro-magnetic mechanism for reliable tripping
    • Compliant with BS EN 61008-1 and BS7671 regulations

Ideal for: Domestic consumer units, EV charge points, solar PV installs, and sub-mains requiring Type A protection.

What is a Type A RCD?

Type A RCDs detect both standard AC leakage and pulsating DC currents up to 6mA. They are required for most modern loads including EV chargers and inverter-based systems.

Is this suitable for EV or solar applications?

Yes - this RCD is commonly used for EV charge points and solar PV boards that require Type A protection under BS7671.

How is this different from a Type AC RCD?

Type AC RCDs only detect pure AC leakage. Type A offers improved protection by also detecting pulsating DC faults, which are more common in modern electrical systems.

    What does ‘2 pole’ mean?

This RCD disconnects both the live and neutral conductors, offering safer isolation — especially in systems where neutral switching is critical.

Is this the same as an RCBO?

No - this is an RCD only. It does not provide overcurrent protection. If you need residual + overload protection, see our RCBO range.

    • Connect live and neutral through marked terminals (line/load)
    • Ensure trip rating and sensitivity match site requirements
    • Use with appropriate earthing system (TT or TN-S)
    • Test monthly using front panel test button
