The WMEPME10/LB is a compact 10-module metal consumer unit offering full PME / PEN fault detection, integrated load balancing, and surge protection - making it ideal for EV charger installations that lack built-in PME safety features.
This unit automatically disconnects Live, Neutral, and Earth in the event of dangerous voltage levels, removing the need for an earth rod and ensuring BS7671 compliance. The onboard load management relay protects the property from overcapacity by actively monitoring current demand via a CT clamp (included).

Does this PME board remove the need for an earth rod?
Yes - the WMEPME10/LB automatically disconnects all poles including Earth if it detects a PEN or PME fault, making it fully compliant without a ground rod.
What is load balancing and how does it work here?
This unit includes a load management relay and CT clamp that monitor incoming supply current. If your total load nears maximum capacity, it can pause EV charging to prevent overloading the installation.
Does this board support Type A RCBOs?
Yes – the incoming device is a pre-installed 40A Type A RCBO, which provides protection against both overloads and DC leakage faults.
