The IP65 A-Type RCBO EV Kit is a pre-assembled, weatherproof solution for supplying EV charge points and outdoor power circuits. Each unit is housed in an IP65-rated enclosure and fitted with a high-immunity A-Type RCBO, providing protection against both 30mA AC leakage and 6mA DC residual currents – as required under the 18th Edition wiring regulations for EV installations.
Compact and installer-friendly, this kit saves time on site and ensures compliance for residential or commercial outdoor installs. Suitable for EV chargers, solar PV supplies, or external power distribution where weatherproof protection is essential.
Available variants:
- WPEV232B – 32A, B curve RCBO
- WPEV232C – 32A, C curve RCBO
- WPEV240B – 40A, B curve RCBO
- WPEV240C – 40A, C curve RCBO
Which to choose? Select B curve for general domestic installs, or C curve for higher inrush loads (such as EV chargers or equipment with motors). Match the 32A/40A rating to your circuit design current.
- Weatherproof: IP65 enclosure, dust-tight and resistant to water jets
- Compliant: Meets BS7671:2018 (A2) for EV and outdoor installs
- Safe: Detects both AC and smooth DC leakage (A-Type, 6mA DC)
- Compact: Approx. 140 × 205 × 95mm, easy wall-mount fit
- Pre-assembled: Ready to install with labelled connections
Is this kit suitable for EV charger installations?
Yes. The A-Type RCBO provides the required 6mA DC detection for EV charge points, ensuring compliance with 18th Edition Amendment 2.
Can I use this kit for solar PV or outdoor circuits?
Yes – it is often used for solar PV supplies, external sockets, and outdoor power where RCD/RCBO protection is required in a weatherproof enclosure.
What’s the difference between B curve and C curve?
B curve is for general domestic loads. C curve is designed for circuits with higher inrush currents (e.g. EV chargers, motors).
What protection level does the enclosure offer?
The housing is IP65 rated – fully dust-tight and resistant to water jets, making it suitable for outdoor installation.
