The IP40 Metal Garage Consumer Unit is a compact, all-metal enclosure for garages, workshops, and outbuildings. Each unit is supplied with a 100A main switch incomer and two pre-fitted B-curve MCBs. Fully compliant with the 18th Edition wiring regs, with integrated neutral/earth bars and an earthed drop-down lid.

Which should I choose? Use the 6A way for lighting. Pick 16A/20A/32A based on the maximum demand of your socket or equipment circuit and the design current. When in doubt, follow your circuit calculations and protective device coordination.

What’s the difference between WMMS/616, /620 and /632?
Only the MCB ratings differ: 6A+16A, 6A+20A, or 6A+32A. All variants include a 100A main switch and the same IP40 metal enclosure. For other board sizes, view our wider consumer unit range.
Does this unit include RCD or RCBO protection?
No. This is the Main Switch version. If your design requires earth leakage protection, choose an RCD incomer garage unit or install RCBOs elsewhere in the system.
Is this suitable for outdoor use?
No. The enclosure is IP40 and must be installed in a dry indoor environment (e.g. inside a garage). For external installs, use our IP65+ weatherproof enclosures.
How quickly can I get it?
Units are built to order and typically dispatched within 3 working days. Stock is held in the UK for reliable turnaround.
